- Lynn Schaaf (PA) was recently promoted to assistant professor of Clinical Laboratory Technology at the Community College of Philadelphia.
- Donald Lehman (DE) Coeditor of Textbook of Diagnostic Microbiology, 3rd ed. Publlished October 2006 by Saunders.
- Betty Ciesla (MD) Author of the textbook Hematology: In Practice published by FA Davis; the anticipated publication date is January 24, 2007.
- Mary Beth Miele (PA) is now the Microbiology Examination Chair for NCA.
- Jodie Prestholdt (NJ) has become Supervisor of Anatomic Pathology at the VA Medical Center, East Orange, NJ.
- Derrick Smith (PA), promoted to Senior Medical Technologist, Springfield Hospital, September 2006.
- Mary Gourley (PA) has been appointed to the Medical Technologist Professional Standards Review Boards for both the local facility (VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System) and the VISN 4 (regional) board.
- Elizabeth C. Bakken, B.S. MT(ASCP), CLS(NCA), CHT(ABHI); (PA) passed the CHT (Certified Histocompatibility Technologist) exam on the 28th of September. This exam is by the American Board of Histocompatibility and Immunology (ABHI).
- Bernie Bekken (VA) is the 2005-2006 President of ASCLS
- Mary Ellen Koenn (WV) was nominated to be ASCLS 2006 Member of the Year.
- Alpha Mu Tau Fraternity scholarships were awarded to Marilyn Nguty-Nkeng (MD) and Donna Shaw (MD).
- Lorraine Doucette (MD) presented a poster at the 2006 ASCLS meeting entitled "Overcoming obstacles to incorporate interdisciplinary curriculum into a graduate laboratory science program."
